Provide direction and leadership in all aspects of Procurement to multiple sites for a private equity’s Bio/Pharma Business, including: strategic sourcing, RFP execution, contract negotiation, total cost of ownership evaluation, transactional efficiencies and supply management. Develop and implement the strategies necessary to support site, and business, initiatives and objectives. Responsible for insuring compliance with all company, and regulatory, directives and standards. Report directly to the Director of Procurement and oversees the functional activities of all R&D and manufacturing activity. Develop and manage effective working relationships with functional counterparts – Manufacturing Leaders, GMs, R&D, Finance and Supply Chain. Deliver annual operational objectives in cost, delivery, quality, and other budgetary requirements. Support and contribute to the development of key materials strategic plans Own the Materials, Services and acquisition spends across the sites. Develop and maintain effective leadership relationships with third-party manufacturers, packagers, and the strategic supply base. Monitor price and market trends to identify changes of balance in buyer-supplier power with reliable suppliers Work with Operations to determine quantity and timing of deliveries Monitor and forecast upcoming levels of demand



Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, logistics or business administration, MBA a plus, (equivalent experience considered) plus 5 to 8 years of procurement experience, with 3 to 5 years in “mid” management roles (in pharmaceutical or Nutraceutical Company a plus). Must possess strong sourcing and supplier management skills and FDA / Regulatory experience, preferably in pharmaceuticals or bio Manufacturing background, (distribution/warehousing experience a plus). Strong knowledge of transactional problem solving, including systems & software solutions (ideally with a JD Edwards - ERP system/process) also required.  Working knowledge of Six Sigma & Lean Manufacturing preferred
