Reporting to the head of an organization which is a leader in third party logistics; providing year-round multi-modal transportation capacity, single/multi-lane managed transportation services, seasonal capabilities.  Responsible for managing all Carrier Sales aspects of a high-volume brokerage operation. The identification, development, and maintenance of assigned carrier relationships at top-to-top executive level, and the maintenance and growth of the existing Carrier Sales team.  Accountable for strategic carrier performance management.  Also, responsible for providing market intelligence and industry insights in support of new business development efforts and providing thought leadership in a collaborative role.  Challenge is to expand current carrier relationships, pursue and close new business, drive revenue growth across all modes, and improve profitability.


Background Required: 

  • Carrier Sales Experience (Minimum 5 years)
  • Personnel leadership experience – team of 15
  • Management of day-to-day operations with KPI metrics
  • Development of strong multimodal (TL, LTL, etc) relationships at all levels
  • Work collaboratively with Customer Relations and Business Development
  • Ability to source carriers, negotiate rates, manage contracts, terms of service, and renewals
  • Management, development, coordination, and optimization of carrier relationships, the ability to classify carriers by role (strategic, niche, etc.) and invest time as appropriate
  • Manage a portfolio of direct reports, customer, and internal relationships
  • Understanding of customers’ operational requirements
  • Leadership in problem resolution between accounts and carrier
