Laboratory Operations Director
Pacific NW 

 

Position Description:

The Laboratory Operations Director oversees the activities of assigned laboratory work groups by delegating tasks, supervising work, and providing technical training to ensure efficient operations at large community hospital. The Director assists in establishing and revising laboratory policies and procedures, implements new tests, equipment, programs and manages staff in accordance with organizational policies and regulations. The director is responsible for developing annual strategic plans for departments, including budget preparation and profit/loss analysis. This position reports to the Chief Medical Officer.

 

Department Stats:

  • 50 staff members in the Lab.
  • Lab Team: Lab Manager, Admin Coordinator, POC Coordinator, Pathologists, Lab tech’s
  • EMR - Epic

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in medical technology or related field,
  • Master’s degree in related field, strongly preferred.
  • Certifications MT, MLS – ASCP, CLS, required.
  • Recent experience managing a Blood bank required.
  • 3-5 years of working experience in a clinic laboratory setting,
  • 2+ years of Progressive leadership experience at Director level within an acute care facility,
  • Leadership experience managing both Operational and Capital budgets required.
  • Basic Life Support, certification,
  • Visible Director within the facility and in the Lab amongst staff, required.
