Job Summary

 

The Technical Sales Engineer (Bridge Consultant) is responsible for driving technical marketing, promotion and sales for our Structures products line; providing regulatory focus, technical knowledge and consultative solution development to owners, engineers and contractors in the civil infrastructure construction industry.   

 

Primary Responsibilities

  • Cultivates and maintains professional relationships and business opportunities with current and prospective customers including specifying engineers and agencies.
  • Develops and executes a sales strategy with contractors and owners for our industry leading Bridge and Structures product portfolio.
  • Operates a defined and proven marketing and sales operating system in a disciplined manner, striving to continuously improve in the areas of Consultative Marketing and Selling.
  • Develops client relationships and business opportunities in assigned territory.
  • Displays Technical Expertise in civil engineering and infrastructure applications of our industry leading Bridge and Structures product lines.
  • Develops both budgetary pricing for initial project design along with final project pricing strategy during Transactional Sales Process.
  • Leads territory field marketing efforts directed at public agencies, DOTs, and regulatory agencies for the Bridge and Structures product portfolio.

 

Minimum Education

 

BS in Civil, Mechanical or related engineering degree.

  • Combination of post-secondary education and experience will be considered in lieu of degree.

 

Licensure/Certifications

 

Preferred:   PE (Professional Engineer)

 

 Required Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of work experience;
  • Ability to communicate technical information, concepts and applications using consultative marketing skills in both a one on one environment, virtual and a formal public speaking environment.
  • Solid project management skills.
  • Must have a valid Driver’s License.
  • Must be able to travel occasionally, 10-20%.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Engineering and construction industry experience preferred.
  • Strong business development, presentation, and negotiation skills preferred.
  • Excellent computer skills, experience with Microsoft Office Suite and CRMs preferred.
