Strategic Account Manager – Great Lakes
Our client, one of the nations leading construction product manufacturers, is looking for a Strategic Account Manager for their Great Lakes Region. Candidate can be located in IN, MI, OH, or IL.
Responsibilities include business development with assigned large public agencies including DOTs and Toll Authorities. Business development includes working collaboratively with DOT personnel, large road contractors, as well as internal Account owners to develop sales success in the public transportation sector.
Responsibilities:
- Utilize past and present success to create a path to sell to large public agencies in a way that protects our profits and creates long term repeatable business by creating value for our customers.
- Strategize and execute plans to develop an approval path forward allowing proprietary solutions at targeted agencies. This includes developing a customized agency plan identifying key decision makers, agency specific decision process, and tailored value proposition.
- Utilize existing and develop strong relationships with road building contractors to educate and promote alternate bid strategies incorporating proprietary solutions.
- Coordinate required documentation and performance validation for active projects
- Prepare monthly progress reports
- Participate and serve in industry groups (SASHTO), trade shows and events.
- Support and be active in creating positive top of mind awareness research and collateral (case studies, industry content, presentation material, sales tools, etc.) with marketing team
- Attend industry sponsored events, network, coordinate speaking engagements, white paper submissions and presentations at industry events.
Education/Qualifications:
- Five to ten years of work experience in the public roads construction industry.
- BS in Civil Engineering or related field.
- Three to five years of proven commercial or sales experience
- Strong communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
- 40%L to 60% travel
