Responsibilities:

  1. Study and learn our manufacturing processes, methods, materials, and equipment in order to recognize and develop opportunities to improve safety, quality, delivery, cost, morale, or environmental impact.
  2. Interpret plant requirements, identify and address design parameters and engineering problems and ensure solutions are implemented accurately and in budget.
  3. Design and develop mechanical system solutions based on engineering principle. Be prepared to support design decisions with analysis and calculation, as required.
  4. Develop PFMEA for project equipment and solutions to minimize project risks.
  5. Identify appropriate equipment builders and vendors to best meet project requirements.
  6. Manage vendors through fabrication, build, delivery, and installation process to meet project expectations.
  7. Ensure all relevant safety objectives, legal considerations, and permitting requirements are observed for all work completed.
  8. Understand and track project spending as compared to provided project budget.
  9. Participate in peer-to-peer design reviews and provide critical feedback to colleagues.
  10. Work closely with production team to resolve operational problems related to projects and minimize delays or unexpected cost increases.
  11. Engage with Maintenance team to optimize maintenance activities and ongoing support for new equipment installations.

 

Job Requirements:

  1. Applicant must have a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in mechanical engineering or related field, or must have documented commensurate engineering experience.
  2. Must have 4-10 years related job experience.
  3. Proficient in MS Office Suite software.
  4. Strong fundamental knowledge of mechanical design and its application in automated industrial applications.
  5. Must be capable of generating 2D drawings and design documentation using applicable CAD software and equipment.
  6. Critical thinking with exceptional problem-solving skills.
  7. Ability to work independently or in a team environment.
  8. Efficiently organize and plan work tasks to meet company goals.
  9. Proactive, resourceful & highly motivated with good communication skills and ability to work in a high output environment.
