We have an immediate opening for a Mechanical Project Engineer to join a manufacturer of products used in a wide variety of industrial arenas including materials, metals, electronics and automotive. Duties 

  • Recommend, specifies, and purchases equipment, parts, components, and services for projects and plant-wide assignments
  • Provides evaluation, justification, specifications, scope of work, design drawings, P & ID’s, bidding, scheduling, supervision, startup, and commissioning of assigned projects
  • Participates in development, bidding, scheduling, evaluating, and other activities related to assigned projects
  • Serves as liaison between production, maintenance, other internal departments, and outside contractors for assigned projects
  • Supports research and development of new process techniques if existing technology is not suitable/viable
  • Coordinates work with outside contractors
  • Complies with safety standards and assures safety-first attitude
  • Exhibits mutual trust and respect towards colleagues, peers, and customers
  • Displays awareness of collective social responsibilities

 Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • 3+ years experience in medium / heavy manufacturing industry environment such as chemical, pulp/paper, refinery, etc.
  • Proficient in word processing and drafting software (AutoCAD, 3D Programs)
  • Experience in plant project planning and engineering
  • Skilled in project management.
  • Experienced in writing detailed engineering investigative reports, which show the results of process investigations and provide recommendations for improvement along with advantages/disadvantages
  • Knowledge of HVAC/mechanical systems
  • Knowledge of health, safety, and environmental requirements
  • Demonstrates style of participative management in problem solving, project implementation, and continuous improvement objectives.
  • Ability to obtain, analyze, and correlate statistical data
  • Service-oriented – willing to function as technical resource to work teams and management
  • Ability to work in both team-oriented and independent settings
  • Demonstrates leadership skills
  • Advanced education is a plus
  • Professional certifications / training is a plus
