Job Summary

A hospital-based surgical team is seeking an experienced Certified Surgical Technologist – First Assistant (CST-FA) to provide advanced intraoperative support during a variety of surgical procedures. This role involves assisting with exposure, hemostasis, suturing, wound closure, and ensuring a safe, sterile, and efficient operating room environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist surgeons with suturing, retraction, hemostasis, and wound closure

• Prepare and maintain sterile fields, instruments, and equipment

• Anticipate surgical team needs and ensure supplies are available

• Perform and document surgical counts

• Support pre-op setup and post-op room turnover

• Collaborate with surgeons, nurses, anesthesia providers, and OR staff

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited Surgical Technology program

• CST (NBSTSA) + Certified First Assistant (CST-FA or CSFA) required
