Corporate Controller
Christian Wyatt Group has been exclusively engaged on a Corporate Controller role for a Super Community Bank in the Southeast. Our Client – has been one of the more successful financial services organizations in the banking sector over the past several years in the Southeast. Their growth trajectory has been steady and solid and based both on organic and M&A growth and this strategic/tactical Corporate Controller role is critical to their continued success. The Opportunity – the right Corporate Controller candidate will be reporting directly to a seasoned Chief Accounting Officer and have the responsibility of augmenting and supervising accounting from a bank holding company perspective. Based on multiple lines of business and the evolving regulatory culture in banking these days, that is no small task. You will be tasked with adding your talent as additional bench strength to all things accounting including your GAAP (G/L), SEC Reporting, and Technical Accounting. Supervising a stellar Assistant Controller, you will bring your personal overarching expertise perspective, Strategy, Reporting, Controls, Policy, SOX, as well as mentoring and leadership which will be key attributes to success in this role.
What We Are Looking For In A Candidate – We are looking for a Certified Public Accountant (CPA), at least 6 to 8 Years Public Accounting Experience (in the Financial Services Arena), and a Minimum of 8 to 10 Additional Years of Financial Services industry specific experience (specifically banking.) Strong knowledge of US GAAP, Accounting Policy (research and apply), SEC Reporting, SOX, and Acquisition Accounting is a must have. This position requires excellent interpersonal skills, strong presentation skills, ability to build consensus, make difficult decisions, strong track record of ‘staying power’ and a strong attention to detail. Building efficient, cohesive, high performing teams, developing infrastructure, with an eye on future growth is key in this role.
