The Design Engineering Professional will work as part of a team of Engineers within a manufacturing operation designing and developing unique product solutions for their customers in the automotive, truck, bus and other industrial markets.  The work environment is dynamic, collegial and technically well equipped, with nice office spaces for the designers.

 

The Design Engineer will have opportunities to move into large Design Leadership Roles, Individual Contributor Principal Engineer Roles, Project Manager, or similar leadership positions.

 

The Design Engineer will be responsible for:

 

  • To develop designs in accordance with the customer specifications.
  • To complete DVP&R and DFMEA plans to support your design intent.
  • Support the design portion of the project by adhering to the departments New Product Introduction/TS processes and methods.
  • Support the Project Engineers with effective design plans for new  Control Module products.
  • Support/lead cost and design improvement projects to contribute to the engineering productivity plan.
  • Effectively manage assigned projects based on cost and with an emphasis on meeting timeline requirements.
  • Work as a member of various cross-functional teams to complete projects within schedule and on budget.
  • Develop formal product definitions and design constraints for company innovation products.
  • Works directly with OEM customer engineering teams to develop concepts, designs, FMEA’s, and build and maintain relationships.

Skills required for consideration:

  • Minimum of B.S. Plastic Engineering Technology, Mechanical Engineering Technology, or Mechanical Engineering Degree
  • 3 – 5 years of plastic part design or automotive design experience desired.
  • MS Office Proficiency, 3D Modeling Experience (NX/Unigraphics preferred).
