Electrical Engineer - Sugar Refineries, CO

 

Position Overview: Seeking an Electrical Engineer based near Denver, CO, responsible for designing and managing electrical and instrumentation upgrades across multiple sugar beet processing sites in the Rocky Mountain region.

 

Travel Requirements: Up to 50%, including Colorado, Nebraska & Montana. Auditing facilities to ensure proper operation and maintenance of electrical & instrumentation equipment.

 

Reporting Line: Reports to the Electrical Engineering Manager. Building strong relationships with plant personnel, engineering staff, and vendors.

 

Essential Functions:

  • Lead electrical & instrumentation projects from design to execution.
  • Utilize engineering software (e.g., AutoCAD) for design tasks.
  • Collaborate with engineers and plant personnel for troubleshooting and projects.
  • Prepare electrical system specifications, technical drawings, or maps.
  • Conduct calculations for standards, designs, and plans.
  • Ensure compliance with standards, specifications, and codes.
  • Conduct inspections for equipment safety and operability.
  • Prepare reports and compile project data.
  • Develop specifications for electrical equipment.
  • Supervise and train plant personnel and project team.
  • Estimate material, labor, or construction costs.
  • Diagnose and solve electrical problems.
  • Install, service, calibrate, and update electrical systems.
  • Develop and test electrical system prototypes.

 

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology.
  • Minimum 10 years' experience in industrial Electrical Engineering.
  • Proficiency in medium and low voltage system design (12470v to 24v).
  • Familiarity with NEC and NFPA 70E.
  • Experience in PLC cabinets, MCC, and Switchboards design.
  • Proficiency in relevant software.
  • Knowledge of electrical engineering codes.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Salary: $100K-$135K; benefits; 401K; relocation assistance; EOE; no sponsorship.
