Pacific Northwest Region

 

A community-focused healthcare foundation affiliated with a rural medical center is seeking an Executive Director to lead fundraising strategy, major donor cultivation, board engagement, and signature community events.

 

This is a highly visible, relationship-driven leadership role for someone who is collaborative, creative, empathetic, enthusiastic, and high-energy. This role would be a good fit for a leader who thrives in community settings and is passionate about advancing rural healthcare through philanthropy.

 

Position Highlights

✔️ Partners closely with hospital leadership and Foundation Board
✔️ Oversees foundation staff members
✔️ Approximately $550K raised annually
✔️ 75% of revenue generated through signature fundraising events
✔️ Major donor and campaign stewardship central to success

 

Role Overview

The Executive Director provides strategic and operational leadership for all foundation initiatives, including fundraising, grants, scholarships, donor relations, and hospital community involvement.

 

Key responsibilities include:

  • Lead and execute comprehensive fundraising strategy (major gifts, events, corporate sponsorships)
  • Cultivate and steward top major donors; oversee pledge fulfillment and campaign performance
  • Guide high-impact community events and fundraising campaigns
  • Support and inspire the Foundation Board and its committees
  • Oversee foundation budgeting and discretionary community giving
  • Mentor and develop foundation staff

 

Ideal Background

✔️ 6+ years progressive fund development experience, including campaigns, large community events, donor cultivation, and major gift closure

✔️ 4+ years of leadership experience

✔️ Demonstrated success in major gifts and grant development

✔️ Experience supporting and collaborating with a Board of Directors

✔️ Event leadership experience with strong organizational and logistical skills

✔️ Growth mindset with resilience and adaptability

✔️ Bachelor's degree required, Master's preferred
