Paving Foreman Civil Construction
Location: Birmingham, AL area

Our client that specializes in Heavy Civil Construction, constructing roads and complex asphalt infrastructure projects-- is looking for a Paving Foreman for the Birmingham, AL area. This position is a full-time, permanent opportunity.

 

Ideal candidates should have started on a paving crew and worked their way from a laborer, to a rake, to a screw to a foreman.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage operations of multiple milling and paving crews, subcontractors, quality control support, logistics directly in a defined region
  • Schedule equipment, manpower, and material needed for your project
  • Achieve optimum utilization of equipment, material, and labor maximizing production and minimizing costs
  • Ensure safety of crew members as well as the public who may interact with projects
  • Maintain project records, review and approve daily timecards, communicate and manage change orders, approve invoices, and attend project meetings
  • Understand and conform with project drawings, specifications, and any/all special or quality requirements

Experience:

  • Five (5) years of asphalt paving experience preferred
  • Ideal candidate should have an associate’s or technical degree in mechanics
  • Ideal candidate should have ten years’ experience in mechanics
