🚀 Production Manager (Chemical) – Ethanol Refinery | Southeast NE (Just 30 mins from Metro City!)
Are you ready to take the lead in a fast-paced, high-impact environment where your leadership drives performance, safety, and innovation? We're searching for a dynamic Chemical Production Manager to lead our production team at a cutting-edge ethanol refinery in southeast Nebraska!
This is your opportunity to own the production process, build an empowered team, and drive continuous improvement in a critical role that reports directly to the Plant Manager. You'll oversee 5–6 Shift Supervisors and a Documentation Engineer/Technical Writer—and together, you'll set the standard for excellence in chemical manufacturing.

Leadership & Team Development
- Inspire, coach, and grow a high-performing production team.
- Lead one-on-ones, performance reviews, and instill a culture of accountability.
- Make key staffing decisions—hiring, coaching, and mentoring future leaders.
- Oversee PTO and timecard approvals with precision.
Operations Excellence
- Take full ownership of the production process—ensuring safety, quality, and consistency.
- Be the go-to Subject Matter Expert (SME) for all things production.
- Drive daily, weekly, and strategic production planning.
Continuous Improvement Rockstar
- Use KPIs and data to drive smart, scalable improvements.
- Lead Root Cause Failure Analyses (RCFA) and eliminate recurring issues.
- Engineer systems that empower your team and enhance performance.
Training & Talent Development
- Oversee the training and qualification journey for all operators.
- Push knowledge and problem-solving deep into the team.
- Serve as a mentor in safety, systems thinking, and operational excellence.
Safety & Compliance Champion
- Set the tone for a proactive, zero-compromise safety culture.
- Ensure full compliance with OSHA, EPA, and all applicable regulations.
- Manage contractor and vendor performance expectations.
- Champion the Management of Change (MOC) process.
Collaboration & Communication
- Keep leadership aligned with clear, consistent updates on KPIs and production performance.
- Foster a positive, solution-oriented team environment.
- Maintain confidentiality and protect sensitive information.
Special Projects & Shutdowns
- Support major shutdowns and maintenance efforts.
- Pitch in across departments and provide backup support as needed.
- Tackle additional strategic assignments from the Plant Manager.
🎯 What You Bring to the Table:
- Education: Bachelor's in Engineering (Chemical Engineering strongly preferred).
- Experience:
- 3–5 years in a supervisory role in a large-scale, continuous manufacturing environment.
- 3–5 years of hands-on plant operations experience.
- Ethanol or chemical production experience? Huge plus!
- Tech Know-How: Familiar with evaporators, exchangers, centrifuges, dryers, boilers, pumps, chillers, compressors, electrical systems, and instrumentation.
- Mindset: A proven leader with a coaching mentality and relentless drive for results.
- Skills: Strong in reliability, continuous improvement, OSHA/EPA compliance, and critical decision-making.
