Job Summary

As the Production Shift Supervisor, your primary responsibility is to oversee and manage the production shift, ensuring safety, quality, and productivity targets are met. You will lead a team of direct reports, manage resources effectively, and maintain adherence to health and safety regulations.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Safety Leadership: Demonstrate and promote solid safety behaviors, ensuring all employees comply with safety procedures.
  • Production Management: Take full responsibility for managing staff, production, and quality targets during your shift.
  • Quality Assurance: Ensure products meet specified quality standards, holding employees accountable for adherence to quality systems.
  • Team Management: Develop and motivate direct reporting staff, fostering a productive and cohesive team environment.
  • Performance Monitoring: Track and report on production process performance, addressing any issues that arise promptly.
  • Communication: Maintain effective communication with all team members, ensuring clarity on objectives and tasks.
  • Health and Safety Compliance: Enforce health and safety rules and procedures, addressing any related issues during the shift.
  • Problem Solving: Utilize problem-solving skills and root cause analysis to resolve production issues efficiently.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with other Shift Supervisors to ensure smooth production handovers and continuity.
  • Training and Development: Ensure employees are trained for their tasks safely and efficiently, supporting continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Resource Optimization: Manage company resources effectively to optimize operating costs.

 

Skill & Experience Requirements

  • Education: High School diploma required; some college or Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Experience: 2-3 years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment preferred, or demonstrated experience without formal supervision.
  • Skills:
    • Strong safety, productivity, and quality improvement experience.
    • Proficiency in root cause analysis.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
    • Advanced computer skills (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
    • Ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
    • Customer-focused mindset with strong leadership and influencing skills.
    • Results-oriented and collaborative approach.

 

Salary and Benefits

  • Salary Range: $70,000 - $95,000 per year.
  • Benefits: Comprehensive benefits package.
  • Relocation Assistance: Provided as necessary.

The schedule for the 12-hour shifts is set up for employees work 3-4 days on either days or nights and they have 1-4 days off in between shift turns. The shifts are either 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. or 8 p.m. to 8 a.m. It is a 28-day schedule.
