We are seeking a talented individual responsible for the estimating and purchasing of materials to maintain a competitive edge on costs while meeting the company's standards of quality, reliability, and overall performance of suppliers.

 

Essential Functions and Basic Duties:

  • Manage the Procurement Process on a business-wide basis.
  • Responsible for the overall management of spending for the organization
  • Conducts monthly review of spend versus budget and assures corrective action is taken when required
  • Responsible for providing direction to the Plant Purchasers
  • Assures state-of-the-art Procurement Processes are in place at all sites and compliance reviews are conducted annually
  • Responsible for driving cost reduction programs at the sites

Key Performance Metrics:

  • Delivers agreed-upon annual sourcing plan targets and other key commercial metrics such as cost savings & DPO
  • Develops and executes global sourcing strategies for the company’s raw materials, packaging, spare parts, and utility supplier partners.
  • Builds sourcing category expertise to provide market and financial insights and inputs into the operating plan process
  • Negotiate with Suppliers to obtain globally competitive price, delivery, and contract terms
  • Develops and maintains sustainable relationships with key suppliers
  • Research, source, and qualify new suppliers
  • Tracks, monitors, and drives key supplier performance indicators across cost, service, and quality and puts corrective actions in place, when needed
  • Ensuring materials and services are always available to meet production plans
  • Establishes and maintains relationships with internal clients and their teams
  • Implements and complies with standard processes and tools to ensure responsible, continuous, and sustainable sourcing in line with the company’s policies, systems, and controls
  • Assist in developing purchased goods inventory targets, and manage inventory to those targets
  • Monthly Procurement reports are completed on a timely basis
  • Material and service cost savings are achieved

Educational requirements and Experience level:

  • BS, preferably in a technical field or Supply Chain Management
  • 5 -10 years in plastics, containers/packaging, paper products, or related process industry.
  • Experience in increasing responsibility assignments in manufacturing, procurement, or logistics with a minimum of 3 years in a Purchasing management role.
  • Extensive negotiation experience with demonstrated financial benefit, including complex multi-year contracts
  • Experience developing and executing category strategies
  • Knowledge and understanding of Supply Chain concepts and application
  • Excellent understanding of Procurement Processes and interaction with Financial Processes for plastics.
  • Excellent communication skills both at the plant level and upward
