Application Engineer

 

Position Summary

The Application Engineer serves as a liaison in the sales process when complex and technical equipment or services are involved. The Application Engineer will be responsible for preparing and delivering technical presentations of products or services to customers and prospective customers.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Consult with existing and potential clients to assess and understand equipment needs and system
  • Draft or assist with the drafting of presentations and other documentation and materials that explain products and services to customers.
  • Provide expertise and support to the sales department to communicate products, services, and client
  • Develop and maintain personal relationships with prospects during the sales process across many different prospects simultaneously.
  • Ensure that the customer’s needs are met, which may include product
  • Propose improved materials or products to customers and explain the benefits of
  • Provide support to customers and resolve problems with installed
  • Prepare product orders and schedules
  • Assist with research and development of new
  • Performs other duties as

 

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organization skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent sales and customer service skills with a proven ability to explain technical products to non- technical audiences.
  • Ability to apply engineering, technology, or other related principles to product sales.
  • Ability and willingness to travel regularly.
  • Ability to meet deadlines, possess good organizational and follow-up skills, be detail-oriented, and able to handle multiple tasks.
  • Regional travel to visit customers and/or potential leads may be required from time to time.

 

Education and Experience:

  • Engineering or Manufacturing background required.
  • Minimum 3 years of related product or sales experience preferred.
  • Proven track record of driving sales growth.
  • Self-starter and self-motivated.
  • Comfortable working in a metric-driven environment, including reporting on and improving business performance against a set of quarterly KPIs and metrics.
  • Proficient using Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc.)
