Senior Accountant - Audit & Assurance - Lafayette, IN

 

Our client, a growing CPA firm located in Lafayette, IN, is actively seeking a Senior Auditor.  The Senior Auditor will lead and execute audit engagements with precision and integrity. This role will involve developing comprehensive audit plans, mentoring a team and cultivating client relationships. The Senior Auditor will stay at the forefront of industry changes, contribute to business development efforts and make a lasting impact on both clients and the firm.

 

Senior Auditor Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and execute audit engagements, ensuring adherence to established timelines and budget constraints
  • Develop comprehensive audit plans for clients in accordance with regulatory standards
  • Analyze financial statements, internal controls, and operational processes to identify areas for improvement
  • Lead and guide audit teams, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture
  • Provide mentorship and training to junior auditors, facilitating their professional development
  • Conduct performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback to team members.
  • Cultivate strong client relationships through effective communication and understanding of their business
  • Address client concerns, inquiries, and requests in a timely professional manner
  • Conduct internal quality assurance reviews to maintain and enhance audit quality
  • Collaborate with regulatory bodies and auditees to address inquiries and maintain transparency
  • Stay abreast of industry changes
  • Contribute to business development efforts

 

Senior Auditor Requirements: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
  • CPA certification preferred
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in financial auditing
  • Strong knowledge of GAAS and GAAP
  • Experience with regulatory reporting and internal audits
  • Proficiency in accounting software
  • Excellent analysis skills
  • Familiarity with SOX and COSO frameworks
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting
  • Experience in public accounting is a plus
