We are hiring a highly motivated engineer to join our client's team as a Robotics Software Engineer. This role will help develop the core robot software code that enables robust, safe, reliable, and intelligent behavior in our robotic platforms. You will implement the core infrastructure of our robot software platform, enabling advanced capabilities in kinematics, vision, sensor fusion, and controls. Your solutions will be essential to delivering responsive, capable, and reliable systems that operate around patients and become an extension of clinicians in a real world medical application. This is truly an exciting role! 

 

What You’ll Do

  • Write Code. Test Code. Debug Code. Repeat. You will be asked to solve hard technical problems and continuously improve implementation approaches to build a low-latency, high-performing software platform.
  • Develop and maintain production-quality software in modern C++, with strong emphasis on performance, reliability, and maintainability.
  • Contribute to complex system-level software that may include elements of the broader robotics stack such as path planning, state estimation, vision, sensor fusion, control, manipulation, and safety systems.
  • Implement and optimize algorithms and data structures that support real-time and performance-sensitive applications.
  • Write clear, well-documented code that is easily understood and maintained by other team members.
  • Develop supporting tools, test harnesses, and automation scripts in Python.
  • Participate in code reviews and contribute to engineering best practices across the team.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineers including mechanical, electrical, and systems teams to support integration and validation efforts.

About You

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or closely related field
  • Strong proficiency in modern C++
  • Working proficiency in Python
  • Solid understanding of one or more of the following: Object-oriented design principles, Data structures and algorithms, Memory management and performance optimization and or Multithreading and concurrency
  • Experience using Git or similar version control systems
  • Strong debugging skills and disciplined engineering habits
  • Ability to operate in a fast-paced, technically rigorous environment
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and presentation skills
  • Passion for building impactful technology that improves the lives of real users
  • Demonstrates high energy, availability, intrinsic motivation, and focus to drive intensely
  • Authorization to work indefinitely in the USA.

 Bonus Points

  • Experience delivering robotics systems in medical, manufacturing, or other semi-structured domains.
  • Familiarity with medical compliance and/or medical device product development
  • Experience with precision motor drive, board design, linkage design.
  • Experience with the ROS / ROS2 (robotics operating system) 
  • Familiarity with vision systems, metrology, or camera-based alignment.
  • Exposure to path planning, motion planning, or control systems
  • Familiarity with kinematics, coordinate transformations, or sensor integration
