Senior Asset & Liability Analyst

 

Our firm is partnering with a rapidly growing multibillion dollar bank on a key Senior Asset & Liability Analyst role.  In this role you will be responsible for assisting with both the Asset Liability Management and Liquidity Stress Testing models within the bank.  Our client has been growing very rapidly over the past several years and based on that growth have immediate need of this critical role. 

 

Core Duties:

In this role you will be asked to partner with the team with the ongoing management of all aspects of the Asset & Liability Management (ALM) and Liquidity Stress Testing (LST) models, including pulling, loading, and reconciling all data, as well as updating and improving assumptions and reports, maintaining and improving documentation, and coordinating with model risk management team, internal and external auditors, and examiners.

You will provide support to all areas of the Corporate Treasury department performing daily treasury activities, including the management of the bank securities portfolio and cash position, as well as the preparation of monthly interest rate risk and liquidity risk reporting and analysis. You will also assist with monthly ALCO presentation preparation and work with Financial Planning & Analysis and Credit Teams for budgeting/planning and capital stress testing.

 

Requirements:

Our client is looking for a bachelor’s degree in finance, mathematics, or statistics.  MBA/master’s degree preferred but not required.   You must possess four or more years direct experience with ALM modeling and reporting.  Liquidity and Capital Stress Testing experience preferred, but not required.   They are an Empyrean shop, so that software experience is preferred, but they will also consider BancWare, ZM, QRM or other ALM modeling software.

 

You must have a solid understandin of a bank’s balance sheet and income statement, applicable accounting rules and regulatory requirements as related to ALM and liquidity modeling.  Because of the close relationship with the data team, experience with pulling/querying, managing, manipulating, and analyzing large data sets using tools such as SQL, SAS, Power BI or Power Query preferred.
