Position: Underwriting Supervisor – Small Commercial  

Location: St. Petersburg, FL (Hybrid)

 

Our client is a well-respected specialty insurance carrier with a 48-year track record of offering a variety of property & casualty products and services to the Southeastern US.

 

Position Summary: This role will be responsible for overseeing and managing a team of underwriters, ensuring the profitability, growth, and quality of the small commercial insurance portfolio and reports to the Small Commercial Underwriting Manager. This role includes providing leadership, mentoring, and technical guidance to underwriters, ensuring adherence to company underwriting guidelines, and fostering strong relationships with agents, brokers, and internal stakeholders.

 

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage a team of 4-5 Underwriters
  • Relationship Management
  • Ensuring Profitability
  • Reporting to Underwriting Manager
  • Provide Leadership, Mentoring, and Technical Guidance

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • 5-7 years of experience underwriting in small commercial
  • Strong Leadership Skills
  • Knowledge of business lines: Business Owner, Builder’s Risk, Personal and Commercial Flood, other Specialized coverages
