Our client is a quickly growing value-add ingredient manufacturer! We have been retained to find a talented Director of Marketing who is responsible for the overall leadership and management of the company’s Food & Beverage Marketing; including but not limited to the development and implementation of the food and beverage marketing strategy that drives market awareness, competitive differentiation and increases the demand for company products and services.


Key Responsibilities:

  • This person will lead the Food & Beverage Strategy with initial focus on North America
  • Develop and implement marketing plans focused on growth of the F&B segment
  • Direct the development and execution of F&B marketing initiatives including product launches, channel to market development and oversight, sales collateral, print advertising, digital marketing, tradeshows, promotional campaigns, social site presence, company website from a food and beverage perspective and F&B press releases.
  • Responsibilities include long-term strategy development, implementation of short and long-term business plans to achieve F&B business objectives and management of F&B marketing costs.
  • Actively lead, build and manage the food and beverage marketing strategy including advertising agency, graphic designers, media specialists and copywriters to produce high quality publications and materials on time and within budget.
  • Lead cross-functional F&B team on specific projects, working closely with the Food Scientist and others to develop concepts ideas and application support, clinical development, regulatory affairs and regulatory approvals, new claims and market expansion.
  • Collaborate closely with the VP of Sales and channel partners; enabling sales to meet their commercial objectives by providing them with appropriate tools, materials, presentations and support.
  • Lead print media buy strategy – Including the creation of new print ads; Coordinate with VP Marketing.
  • Develop direct mail programs (including e-blasts), monitor roll-out of the campaigns and check for success level at conclusion.
  • Continually monitor and leverage company website from a F&B perspective– Including branding, content updating and education tools.
  • Leverage social media to expand awareness and growth of company's F&B branded technologies.
  • Insure timely distribution of leads generated at all tradeshows.


  • BS in Business, Science, Marketing/Communication or equivalent, MBA preferred
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in marketing (Must come from the food ingredient industry)
  • Past experience in a market development, sales or business development role
  • Superior presentation and analytical skills, plus demonstrated skills to handle a variety of assignments simultaneously
  • Strong leadership and negotiating skills
  • Experience in new business development and product launches
  • Proven ability to work cross functionally with sales, marketing, customers, suppliers etc.
  • Results driven, strong work ethic with strong organizational and time management skills
  • Must be able to travel at least 30% of the time (customers, conferences and tradeshows)
  • Must possess a valid U.S. driver’s license.
