Financial Reporting & System Accounting Manager

This is a critical role for our client and in this role you will be responsible for managing the quarterly and annual financial statement functions as the affiliates report in as well as helping coordinate the audit function with external auditors. You will also manage the GSE’s internal controls over the entire financial reporting process nationwide and will also be involved with the Parent’s Audit Committee and various business reporting lines within their entities.
To be considered for this role, the position requires a CPA with a minimum of 10 years’ experience in public accounting, preferably with a Big Four firm, or a combination of both public and privately held financial services experience. To receive consideration coming from the private sector, your experience must include a role in financial reporting with extensive financial analysis and quarterly and annual report preparation. With a public accounting background, your experience must include audit engagements for SEC registrants, with a good portion of those being commercial banks. The breadth of your background must also include either audits or managing internal controls over financial reporting. Being a strong, polished communicator is key. As you will be interfacing not only with internal executives, but affiliate executives nationwide, so excellent interpersonal skills are critical to success in this role. They key is being confident, but not cocky as you interact effectively taking a servant’s attitude with executives across multiple businesses, as well as with you internal peers and subordinates. That mentality will be key to your success.
Project Management skills, coupled with being systems savvy is key as well. You will play a key role in participating in or leading system-wide workgroups and will be looked to to be a key contributor in those groups. Learning and adapting to different platforms will be an important facet of this role. You will also provide leadership to a staff of three that although very tenured, continue to have a strong desire to learn and improve. Where there are gaps in employee development, processes, or various practices that need to be developed both with employees and with the systems you are using, this skill set will be a key component to success here.
